Cosplay Wishlist

Making this post for two reasons, to track the amount of cosplays I wanna do, and also to share the characters I want to cosplay.

1. Nagisa Momoe from Madoka Magica Movie Rebellion
Me and a few friends are hoping to do a Madoka Magica cosplay group for Sunnycon next year, so this is the perfect chance for me to cosplay Nagisa :3 We're still looking for people to join so if by any chance you're going to Sunnycon in 2015 and wanna be a magical girl with us then please hmu!

2. Rikka Takanashi from Chuunibyou
Ever since I received my Rikka Azone doll from my last blog post I've been wanting to cosplay Rikka for real! Maybe not this coming year, I have so many cosplay plans Rikka can wait ;-;

3. Yu Narukami / Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4

My two favourite characters from Persona 4... though being a short female with boobs means the only version of Yu I can really cosplay (or feel comfortable cosplaying) is the cross dress version...
I wanna do it.

4. Nico Yazawa from Love Live

I've cosplayed Nico once before, but there's so many outfit choices for her, and tbh I feel as though I basically am Nico now, so I must cosplay her more!

So for Sunnycon I will definitely be Nagisa Momoe, and for the other day of the convention I'll either be Nico or Yu (or maybe Rise idk)
Ahh I'm so indecisive!

Ordering from a Japanese Shopping Service [Noppin]

People often use shopping services to buy from sites like Taobao, a Chinese shopping site similar to Ebay. A shopping service is simply a company which will order what you want to buy from a website or shop oversees that doesn't ship internationally, and for a percentage fee will ship it to you. I wanted a limited edition Rikka Takanashi Azone doll which was only sold on TBS Shop, a Japanese site, so I needed to find a Japanese shopping service to order it. I could find lots of information on services which enable you to buy from China (mainly for Taobao) but I couldn't find much on Japanese ones. I'm hoping to share some useful information for anyone in my situation in the future ^^
She isn't available on the TBS shop any more, but you may be able to find one on Ebay

Cosplay Prop Progress - Nico Yazawa Microphone

I wanted to make a prop to go with my Nico cosplay, so the obvious choice was her cat microphone from the second season! It doesn't look exactly perfect, but it's a neat little prop that will be good for photos~

I didn't take as many photos of the beginning process as I would have liked, so I'll try and explain as I go along. I started with a toilet roll tube and a polystyrene ball, I cut the tube up the side and taped it back together making it tapered towards the bottom. I then taped the ball on top to keep it in place.
I then made ears out of tin foil by making triangle-ball shapes and indenting the middle using my fingernails, it took a while to get the size and shape I wanted, but then I taped them onto the ball. I then covered the whole thing in masking tape. I also added arms and a tail with rolled up tin foil covered in masking tape and taped in place.
Then it was time for paper mache! I mixed PVA glue and water and pasted torn up newspaper onto it. I did about 2-3 layers, until it felt hard and sturdy enough.
You can see the tail from this angle.
Once it was ready I began to paint. I painted areas that were going to be a light colour in white first so the paint would stand out. I also painted the black.
First coat of pink for the base, I changed the colour a lot to get it to look right.
Ear and arm colour, I then painted the black again to neaten it up.
I then painted the face and the mic was complete! Not too neat, but it'll do for photos!

Nico Yazawa Makeup Tutorial (ish) and Cosplay Update!

It's been a while hasn't it? Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately, I've been busy with work, as well as my Youtube and shop ;o; But I still find time for cosplay! I'll be at Anime Attacks in a couple of weeks, so I decided I would test my Nico cosplay and check everything is ready!
You may remember my last cosplay makeup tutorial, for Ryuko. I'll be doing the same sort of thing again for Nico, so let's go! :3
I started with Super Pinky Wine Red lenses. I liked them for a more natural looking red as opposed to a bright scary colour xD
I then started with foundation and concealer, and a little white eyeliner under my eyes
Simple eyeliner next, I tried to follow Nico's eye shape
Little black lines on the eyelids gives an 'anime' effect
I added blush and also coloured my eyebrows slightly black
For the lashes I used Red Cherry which I bought from here. They're very light and very pretty!
I used top lashes, and cut two single lashes from a set of bottom lashes, as Nico has two little lines under her eyes just like that. I also added a small line of eyeliner right under my iris.
I used some light pink lipstick and then I was ready to put on my cosplay!
Here are two photos I edited for my World Cosplay account. Feel free to follow me!
And here are some slightly less edited photos :3

I hope you enjoyed this kind of tutorial and cosplay update!
Just a quick note, I applied to be a writer for Super Cute Kawaii and one of my posts has been submitted as a guest post, it would be great if you could check it out and leave some feedback, it's a clay cupcake tutorial! Check it out here!

Betoyo Bento Subscription Box Review

I have a different kind of subscription box review this time, the Betoyo Bento box features anime figures and toys and Japanese candy, and they kindly sent me August's box to review! I'll also be doing an unboxing video on Youtube soon, but here is my blog review~
As you can see the box comes beautifully wrapped with a nice red ribbon (which I'll keep for crafts of course, or maybe even a cosplay) and it also has a sticker on top with the Betoyo logo on.

Hair Dye Routine - Red/pink hair!

I've been questing for a nice reddish pink hair for a number of months now, trying to get a similar colour to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu in her Candy Candy music video.
It's not the same shade, but I've definitely got a shade I love at the minute, and since it took a fair few attempts to get a dye that not only is red/pink, but covers my dark roots (as my hair is naturally dark brown)

Adventures at Yorkshire Cosplay Con and Sunnycon

Thought I'd make a quick blog post on the two conventions I attended recently, Yorkshire Cosplay Con and Sunnycon. Although I made a small video for YCC, I didn't actually manage to film anything at Sunnycon because I was run down with a cold and just didn't feel like filming xD I have filmed a haul video of what I bought at both conventions though, and I'll upload that soon.

I didn't take as many photos of cosplayers at YCC as I would have liked, but here are the ones I did take

Met and hung out with some awesome people too, Sparkles* of Area 11
 The lovely Beckii Cruel
Another photo with Sparkles* coz I needed one for instagram ahaha
 The gorgeous MiyuukiHime
 The amazing Kelsey (KimonoTime)
 The adorable Fetsu-chan
And a lovely subscriber and her friend who kept me company and filmed part of my YCC vlog haha~
Overall I had an amazing time at YCC, it was great to cosplay and have people recognise my character as well ;o; Here's my video of the day:

Although I didn't take any photos at Sunnycon, I had a few taken of me! Here are a couple of the best, kindly borrowed from Astrogoate on tumblr:

It was my first time cosplaying Ryuko in public so I was pretty self concious about my midriff haha, but everyone was so nice and took photos of me so it made me feel awesome~ What was also awesome is that there were 3 Ryukos there, but we were all different variations of her so we didn't clash xD

I made some awesome friends at Sunnycon, so even though I went on my own I didn't feel lonely :3
Writing this has given me a case of the con blues now, I hope to be able to go to more conventions soon!
